For this landmark, The Peach Blossom Spring created by Tao Yuanming is used as an inspiration to blend Chinese characters into a beautiful world filled with flowers. In the past, an era of simple lifestyles, poets wrote beautifully, the society was pervaded with a literary creation-oriented vibe, and everyone thought deeply about what they wrote. However, advances in technology have taken away the public’s knowledge of Chinese characters and their ability to use them accurately.

 

In response to the aforementioned problem, this exhibition introduces “Dream of Flowers, Pond of Typos,” in which digital multimedia is used to create an interactive wall full of Chinese characters and visitors are asked to identify the typos on the wall. By touching the wall, a dreamlike visual effect is created, echoing the poetic world depicted in The Peach Blossom Spring.
